Our therapy approach
At Motherhood Era Psychology we believe that at the heart of positive therapeutic outcomes is the therapeutic relationship. That’s why we take the time and effort to build strong, trusting, and compassionate relationships, with a client-centred approach.
We take a holistic approach to therapy, acknowledging the unique challenges faced by mothers and families in the perinatal period. Our therapy sessions are tailored to meet the specific needs of each individual.
We are informed by attachment, relational and developmental frames. Meaning we hold a strong focus on relationships (particularly the parent-child relationship), understand that everyone is doing their best with what they’ve been given, and that becoming a parent takes time.
We believe that everyone brings individual and unique strengths to parenthood. We utilise a strengths-based approach to therapy to empower you to recognise that you can be the parent you desire to be.
We love babies at Motherhood Era Psychology and warmly invite babies to attend sessions alongside their parent.
