Frequently Asked Questions

Can I bring my baby to the session?

Babies are very welcome in the therapy room. I am very comfortable with you addressing the needs of your baby in the session (including feeding, changing and settling).

Can my partner attend the sessions?

Whilst I do not provide family or couples counselling, I welcome partners to come if you would like them to be present. Sometimes it is helpful to get partners to attend the initial session to gather extra information from them about how things are at home. Sometimes it is helpful for them to attend another session later down the track so they can hear what we are working on in session and help them to better understand what is going on for you and how they can help.

What happens during the 15-minute free telephone consult?

During this call, you will have the opportunity to give me a brief summary of your current concerns. I will answer any questions you have about the process of therapy or about myself and the way that I work. We will then discuss logistics like cost, appointment frequency, and policies. There is no obligation to book an appointment during this call however, if you feel ready I will get you scheduled with my soonest availability.

Do I need a referral?

Sessions can be paid for privately therefore a referral is not necessary to access services. If you wish to access a medicare rebate for services then a referral for a Mental Health Care Plan will be required from your GP.

What if I am in a crisis?
